You could keep your factory OS restore discs on an inexpensive micro USB flash drive, such as this SanDisk Cruzer Fit 64GB USB 2.0, and just keep it installed in your notebook. Then boot directly from the flash drive, and re-install your OS if ever necessary. Should have enough extra space to backup key files when not connected to a cloud drive - i.e. to save mobile data.
