Not just an issue with CW, it's happens everywhere. Nobody cares, and few companies pay enough to encourage their employees to care.
I agree with the first sentence.
The second sentence, not so much. When somebody agrees to take a job they also agree to the amount they will be paid to do the job. If the employees care and do the job properly, the company will be encouraged to pay them more to retain a good employee. And that is how it should be.
However our entitlement society says, no matter how crappy of a job I do you can't fire me or I will sue you. And I'm also entitled to my yearly cost of living increase regardless of my performance.
your statement does not hold up in the real world, my wife has been an OR Nurse for 34 years after achieving some of the highest evaluations from employers and Doctors, she was fired , the reason you may ask? She was making as much as two graduate Nurses with no experience. In todays world it is not how good you are its a matter of being a warm body and two is better than one.
Don't know if I agree with that or not...Being a Supervisor in a very large manufacturing plant, and having been in manufacturing in one facet or the other for 40+ years....I want "good, conscientious" workers over several that can't do the job right. I want those that are going to be on time, know their job well and can be counted on no matter what...They're worth their weight in gold in my business...
Sounds like, in your wife's instance, HER Supervisors were idiots...In "MY" case, I need GOOD workers, a bunch of warm bodies is useless to me and could hurt our business..I want well trained people who will do their job and do it right, and they'll be rewarded for it..
In most cases, one who has a work ethic and/or has been around awhile doesn't take them long when they frequent a place, be it a restaurant, Wally World, Camping World, Auto Service dept, whatever...after a service or two, will be able to tell if they should ever go back or not....Those that want customers to keep coming back will go out of their way when it comes to "customer service" and keeping the customer satisfied...IF the Employer really cares...if Employer has "too many iron's in the fire", or doesn't realize what is going on....it'll come back to haunt that person sooner or later....
When I walk into CW, or anywhere else, I'd like to be treated like a "valued" customer...you don't know how many more people I'm going to send your way, or tell them to go somewhere else...you don't know if I'm going to purchase a $300,000 MH or a roll of toilet paper...both you should be treated the same....or you'll lose business....Live and learn, yet another philosophy that doesn't seem to be alive any more...I personally prefer the Golden Rule..."Do unto others as you would have others do unto you"...pretty much say's it all, and in business, it would make it so much more of a better "buying experience".... Repeat customers is what you shoot for....even at Camping World.....
with her recent employer they respect her so much they offered her a position of coordinator, she told them she likes it in the trenches and saw no need to take an advancement, her punishment, they cut her hours. Back to CW one of the best managers they ever had worked here in Winter Garden, when they made it a dealership he was taken out of management and made a tech, some reward huh?
and I'll say it again....HER bosses are nothing more than a bunch of idiots, not knowing what they had...nice to offer her a promotion, but to "punish" her was purely idiotic. "A bird in the hand is worth more than two in the bush"
I"ve been with this Camping World since they took over Todd's RV, (where I purchased more than several of my 5er's, including the one I have now...It was the BEST thing that happened around here in the RV community...especially for those of us that were limited to where we could go from "camping things"....They need to understand, if they get a bad rap, we now have the internet to voice our displeasure....same as if we have a good experience, we also voice it on the internet...at this time, I've done both with this Camping World...we'll see what shall happen....
