i guess your definition of "full fledged" and Mine, don't match
you can get a 14" dell with 2gb ram and 160gb hd for $159
slow ? its fast enough to stream video over any internet connection thats good enough to stream it
not everybody needs a 1TB hd and 8gb of ram
high end gamers and people doing video editing and processing can make use of it
i fit the video side, with a 17" Hp 6gb ram, 760gb HD, core i-5 64bit win 8.1
you don't need that much CPU power to surf the web, send emails and read documents
20yrs ago that dell would have cost $3000 maybe more,and probably weigh 30#
