The cost structure of an internet store is totally different than that of a bricks and mortar store. Hence, it makes sense to me that the cost of the items would differ between the stores. I like the ship to store option offered by many retailers. That way the item goes to the store on the same trucks that deliver stock to the store. However, in many cases, the store price and the on-line price are the same. Also, CW's sale catalogs often state "internet sale" in which case I don't expect the store to match the price.
As a person who previously ran a retail operation I can attest it is no fun to help a person pick the perfect item for them and then have them order the same item on line. It really hurts when they bring it back to you for free repair.
I don't think we're going to be very happy when there are no bricks and mortar stores so we can touch and feel the items before we buy. I consider price when I buy, but it is not the overriding consideration.
