Costco Tire Prices Online Versus Warehouse Price

At it's best this is going to be dicey, budget wise...

I am going to shoot for a pair of 195X70X14" Michelin tires with the 90,000 mile tread wearout warranty. Online, the site states around a hundred thirty dollars each out the door. The way the 65 dollar Douglas Wal-Mart tires are wearing I doubt whether I'll get 20,000 miles out of them.

I am hoping direct through the warehouse prices are cheaper. Maybe that's a pipe-dream.
  • From a SoCal perspective, DiscountTire always beats Costco by a small margin, and their customer service is second to none. Costco is about even with TireRack, although tirerack has a better selection. ConsumerReports is your friend!
  • Well, if you buy from, I believe, Discount Tire, online, and have them ship from AZ to your place in Dago, you'll avoid a 9 1/4% sales tax. Then run them over to Walmart for installation and balancing. However, no 90k mile warranty, that way. Otherwise, Costco has Michelin on sale right now, with some sort of rebate going on also. Do not know if it ends in Sept or October.

    Discount tire, another option
  • I did Tire Rack for 4 KUMHO s. Quietest tires I have ever had. In my experience, tire warranties are not worth the paper they are printed on.
Pro rated from full MSRP, etc. Michelin makes good tire$.
  • 195X70X14" BF Goodrich One Hundred Sixty Seven Dollars. Pre-pay and wait 5-7 days. Need I say more? Oh, that's right I need to say more. WARRANTY ONLY AT THE SHOP THAT SOLD ME THE TIRES. Workmanship and materials. Pro rated. Zero other warranty.
  • Hi Mex,

I had a choice of Michelin or Toyo. The owner of the company who sold them is a friend of a friend. He recommended the Toyo even though it cost him money.
