So you use camping world for the "see, touch, feel" and then go somewhere else. What do you think it cost camping world to let you do the "see touch, feel" thing?
Oh about the same as the dealership you went and looked at fill in the blank____________ ! Before you bought ___________ !
Now, I was there shopping for other items and she saw this particular item , alot of times what's online/their catalog is not in the store. They choose to have a policy of charging shipping on something so minute ! Sow we chose to buy elsewhere..
Do you understand that a retail store and a internet pricing are different. A store is well lit and nice. Items are displayed nicely.
YOu pay for the convenience and cost of the nice store vs. online wher you pay for only the item. The item is not displayed but stored ion a cold warehouse.
They are too different worlds. They have too different price structures. The cost will never be the same.
CW cannot afford to sell internet and in store items at same cost.
Why do you expect then to?
Not sure you understand the retail business, there are people in retail with your way of thinking and then there are people in retail who are successful at it. Highest cost of doing business is acquiring customers. If you could get a customer into your store for lets say 50 bucks just give him 50 bucks to become your customer you would be a billionaire. Camping World had a chance to make a customer by giving him what??? 5 bucks worth of shipping costs? Why they spend three times that each month just sending me catalogs that I never even look at. Every week another catalog. Do you have any idea what the mark up is on CW items or any retail store for that matter over 65% on most items. Even higher on some and lower on others. CW could afford to give free shipping on any of their in house items and still make a huge profit. Short term thinking like wanting shipping on an item you already have in stock is going to keep this company from ever going public or becoming a real factor in the market. JMO 33years customer service for a huge grocery chain OH successful grocery chain.
CW is very successful. They know they can't compete with themselves so they don't.
I agree they may want to rethink their internet strategy nevertheless.
Retail pricing and internet pricing are not the same.
Did the OP save $6 by finally buying at Amazon or did they waste there savings bu going back and forth with CW.
If I want the savings I use Amazon. If I want to touch and feel it. Or need to actually speak to someone to gain product knowledge and more info I buy retail.
I understand I will pay different prices. But I also understand I'm getting different levels of service.
I have spent over 20 years in retail myself and I have learned you can't please everyone.
While many may disagree, Price is not all that matters in a sale.
