IMHO, this thread is not about 5 bucks, but rather about how we, as consumers, view our purchasing power and ideals. I'm not rich, far from it...but, I've managed to have enough to enjoy life at it's fullest as I creep up the age ladder...that said, I still want the best bang for my buck. Yes, I have the UPC app on my phone...If I'm in WalMart, Home Depot, Lowes or even JC Penneys, often I'll scan the UPC to see what others are charging for the same product. With this knowledge, I can then ask myself...do I want to wait for delivery or do I need to take this home with me now.
If I need/want it now, then I'm willing to PAY for that privilege.
Why do you think you see those ads on TV...."but WAIT ! There's more...order today and you'll receive TWO for the price of ONE...only pay shipping and handling."...guess where they're making their markup....?
I wouldn't expect a stix n brix store to discount shipping costs as that is simply part of doing business...both ways....Dennis
