Think I'm going to start paying for online storage. I have one of those Iomega things that automatically backs up, but it is a black box that I can't understand, and seems to drive my security check program crazy.
A survey on the web said Justcloud, around $9/month unlimited storage, is the best out there. I can't get by with the various free storage offers because I have around 80 GB of photos from our 14 years working overseas in various countries, plus kids, etc. Probably no one will look at them after I'm gone, but I like to kid myself they will.
I want something I can drag and drop files to store; something I can understand. Not so black boxy, trust me, type stuff.
Good luck with online storage.. So far out of two online storage outfits I am batting ZERO on reliability..
First one, TOOK my money, gave me unexplained outages (couldn't access for days) randomly would LOSE ALL MY FILES and I would have to reload them then finally they disappeared WITH NO TRACE WHAT SO EVER along with 6 months time left of my money..
The second one was a free account with hot linking after a few months of setting up all of the hot links ceased to function.. I called them up and they stated that they decided that free accounts would no longer have hot links allowed since they made no ad revenue from that. They failed to send out notices of such change and SHOULD have grandfathered existing accounts but would not..
Currently I have a free account from Google (although I was not real happy to do so but I needed a free extra expendable mail account) but it does have a 15GB max allowance.. It is OK, but I would not ever consider paying a monthly "rental" for online storage again..
My suggestion is to HUG your little black box, treat it well and it will outlive any and all online storage systems..
