I plan my trips on Delorme Street Atlas, transfer it to Basecamp, and upload it to my Nuvi. Then a quick doublecheck to make sure it transferred correctly and didn't add some imaginative routing, and I'm in business
you used a map,to plan the route, the map was on the computer, but it was a map and 'YOU' picked the route
the GPS will just follow your position and tell you when you reached "YOUR" chosen route changes
this is YOU ,,, making the decisions,,and YOU planning the route
the GPS is just a storage & location device
and it is a good way to do things
the TERM "using a GPS" has way to much desecration in what the user means and what the listener/reader thinks is being said
when somebody says using gps, the first thing on my mine "don't know where the place is, or how to get there, i will let the gps tell where to go and i will blindly follow"
because that is exactly how way too many people use it
