PC Cleaner

Sometimes reviews are helpful. Got a low rating from CNET's own reviewer.

The only program I use as a cleaning utility is CCleaner, and have used that going on a decade. Other utilities may bring unwanted functionality.

Sometimes registry fragmentation causes performance issues. This can be solved by imaging off the copy of Windows, erasing and reloading the backup. It doesn't hurt, if one has multiple PCs, to save a backup image off, then scan the image with an antivirus utility. This is good for finding rootkits.

Yeah that too.Be very careful what you download..

And remember do not ever download anything that is free. Not even an anti virus program they also contain virus's You can really screw your computer up by doing so and allowing annoying ads to come on board that you will have one heck of a time getting rid of. (ask me how I know !!)

Most of the Cleaner/speed up programs out there do more harm than good.

one of the good ones is CCleaner (The first C stands for a word that is often assoicated with the black tank on your RV) and even this one can do harm if you adjust the settings and do not know what you are doing (By default it does some good, but a skilled user can improve it,, an unskilled one trying to improve it will do harm).

IF you feel the need for a "Tune up" Take it to Staples and leave it overnight.
