Photo downloading and munipulation?

IrfanView is an excellent fairly basic photo handling program. Easy to learn, and easy to use.

Google's Picasa is free, allows editing and easily facilitates sending photos with an email or uploading them to Google's cloud (Google Drive) where they can be shared online.
