I can't comment on temperature effects, because we full-time
But I have had this happen, when I selected the wrong paper setting
I've gotten to the point where I always check and set the print settings when I begin a print session,
Never relying on default
Any kind of pc lockup, reboot, system restore, and the print settings can be back on factory default
