I am the one whose DW bought the NEATReceipt scanner. That is in addition to, not in place of, an all-in-one printer with a flat plate scanner.
I also have both a neat scanner and an All In One print/scan/copy/fax machine. I find the neat scanner very convenient to take on the road, and when used with the included software it's good to scan any receipts/docs/picts that you need to scan on the road.
I use the neat scanner when I do a check deposit to the bank. It's convenient for the quick jobs when you just need it to work. I have used the receipts that I have scanned in for returns, and did not have any problems with the.
I use the All in One for jobs where I really want the higher quality scan, as a copier and printer. I also have an old cannon mobile printer that I use for quick print jobs on the road. It also has a scanner head, but it's old tech (about 10 years old now).
