We have a hand held scanner made by VuPoint. Many models available on Amazon. We've had ours for a number of years. Bought ours from HSN on sale & was cheaper - at that time - than Amazon. HSN now has a the VuPoint scanner with an auto-feed dock. Best of both! You can feed through loose pictures, papers, etc. or use the wand to copy magazines or other items that can't go through a scanner. Nice, but long video on HSN showing how to use it. If I didn't already have just the hand held, I'd go for the new one with the doc feeder.
We have copied portraits & old photos when visiting family & then have it for our use.
This little scanner is easy to use - practice a bit! And easy to take along for use when away.
