Best solution is to use Firefox and "adblocker plus" and "ghostery". You can see who is trying to track you and also block all ads. JMHO
I use MS IE and have no pop ups (that I don't want). It also renders more faithfully to the HTML5 standard. My secondary browser is Google Chrome on the laptop. On the tablet (where I am as I "swipe" this reply) I use Dolphin Brower for Android. Both I get no pop ups. Depends on your browser settings and the sites visited. :)
