Portable satellite??

We have a Traveler on the roof for our Dish hopper with Sling and a Joey. Where we are parked now we can't get sat #129 so we don't have all Chanel's. We're thinking of getting one of the little portable automatic ones. What kind do we need? I saw an ad for a Winegard carry out G2. Will this kind work with our equipment ?

With Direct we could enter a zip code and get the headings. I haven't been able to find something similar on the Dish menu. How the heck do we aim it to get 3 satellites.
On mine it's: Menu >> System Setup >> Installation >> Point Dish

That's not the way the Dish Hopper menu works. I'm not aware of anywhere on the Hopper setup menus that will give you the azimuth, elevation, and skew settings for a given ZIP for both arcs.

Well darn, not what I wanted to hear. We used to manually aim a dish back when we had DTV. We do have a dish they gave us when we went to Dish. Try DishPointer.com or one of several Android or iOS apps...

Nothing but a full size open face antenna will work with your Hopper and the joey won't work without a Hopper. You will need to connect the outside antenna to the same solo node and similar splitters used by the Trav'ler.
  • at one time walmart had a reasonably priced dish auto portable, which might work?
    might be order only
