Print Screen/Page in Firefox

I just learn and this is pretty cool. I think this was incorporated in FX 20 or so. <<< Correction: FX 16.

Open the Web-developer toolbar
Shift-F2

Enter:
screenshot filename --fullpage

This will create an .png image of the entire current browser page. The file will be written in your normal download directory.

Not sure I understand the syntax yet but Ill tinker until I do :)

    Print to PDF

    How do you do this?
Install a PDF writer like the one from CutePDF or pony up for Acrobat Professional.
  • I use snagit which will also scroll a file or webpage so that you're not limited to what's on the screen. But it's not free.
  • Very cool!

If you don't want a full page screenshot (meaning it shouldn't show the entire scrolled page, only the currently viewable area), don't include the --fullscreen option.

Also, it seems to only do .png format. Specifying another extension will just make that part of the filename. For example, "screenshot test.jpg" will save the currently viewable area to test.jpg.png in your downloads directory.
  • That will work for the visible area only.

And a minor mod to the Prnt-Screen is Alt-PrntScreen will capture just the current window.
  • good trick

or you can just hit the print screen button on your keyboard...
then open up Photoshop, Paint, Word, or whatever and right click...paste
