It has nothing to do with the TV. It's most likely that you did not get the cabling right when you took the converter box out of the loop. You are going to need to verify that you have direct lines going in the right directions.
Does the Winegard Video Control box have an on/off switch or (looking at the back side) 12V wires coming into it? If so, you need to make sure the coax running directly from the roof top antenna connects to the post that reads TV Antenna. This is the connection that provides power to the roof top antenna and the amp inside the head.
If the VCC does not have a power supply then the power for the antenna is coming from the wall plate described above. If that's the case you will want to ensure the coax from the antenna is connected to the connection in the wall plate that says ANTENNA and there will be a connection on that same circuit board that says TV1 (or TV2) and the coax from that connection need to run to the VCC that says From Ant. or similar.
