Purchased Verizon unlimited data plan

I typically don't use too much data, so we were on the 6 gig plan. My son is more of a data hog, so I called Verizon to bump it up. I got 8 gigs for 9 dollars more, and get 2 gigs per phone bonus. So, I get 14 gigs for our dollars more than the 6, plus I get roll over data.

If they throttle back your data speed to 3g after a certain amount that by definition is a restriction or a "limitation" thus your plan is NOT unlimited. Also on a truly "unlimited" Plan there would be no "Carry Over" of "Unused" data as unused implies a limit.

Please understand I am not criticizing you or your decision I am only pointing out that this is a really heinous play on words by Verizon that has made the term "Unlimited" virtually meaningless.

I am not sure where you are traveling or what phone you are using but I almost always get a 4GLTE signal on Verizons network.

I would be interested in what they are charging for this plan.

I probably need to recheck with Verizon.... They are really after us grandfathered folks with older equipment... It is sort of a fine they add to the bill for having an older Unlimited feature...

We live sort of down in a hollow area and only Verizon works in our house. Kids come home with their Sprint, T-mobile, and AT&T and have to go outside to use their devices. Kinda like the "Green Acres TV series" here where you almost have to climb an outside pole to use a telephone haha...

Haven't checked in awhile now with the other carriers to see if they got better coverage yet...

When it goes to 3G, that's called throttling and it restricts speed to curb over usage. You could try it and let everyone know how it is. You don't say what the cost is, but good luck; I hope it works good for RV'rs.
