Question about slimline 3

I have a D12-700 receiver hooked up to a slimline 3 with PI, before this I had it setup with a 3-lnb legacy setup with mutiswitch. With this first setup I had local's, now I do not. Also I noticed when I was in satellite setup with slm-3 it automatically picked the slm-3 and would not let me change it. Next when checking signal strenght all I could see was the 101 or swm. Is this correct and is there anything i can do to get my local's on this setup?

There is only one correct setting for the SWM3 and as you have noted, the receiver will set it automatically.
The signal meter should be showing SWM plus 101, 99 and 103. You will see 99(s) and 99(c) plus 103 (ca and cb) plus 103(s). The (s) are spot beamed channels.
You should have only one cable connected to the receiver, you should not have any B-Band converters installed and you should have a PI21 (21V) power inserter installed.

Bill i can only see the swm and 101, also i have the b-band in because that is the way the it is on my house with swm5. to note though, I tried without the b-band, and all wokrd the same as with.

    Thanks for the help
  • I converted over to SWM and every time the power went off I had to go back and change the settings on all the receivers as they changed. I had the power inserter hooked to the DVR player and so I went and connected it to the main splitter so it was installed before all the other receivers. Seem to fix that problem.

  • Looks like a call to Directv is I order.
That is always a whole lot of fun.
  • It is in my back yard right now, getting ready to leave Tuesday. Yes DirectTV; you should be able to go through the setup again to change the dish type. this is what I thought also, but it picked it own dish type and switch type.
  • How far are you from home?
You can only get them within a certain distance from home. 150 miles or so.

You have Direct Tv? If so, you should be able to go throughs be setup again to change the dish type.
