Question about Xbox games?

Thanks for the information. My grandson doesn't have any of the games on the "back compatable" list so I guess he will have to get all new games. Someone else will be buying them.

That doesn't appear to be the case. From the link: "For disc-based games that are a part of the Back Compat game catalog, insert the disc and the console will begin downloading the game to your hard drive. After the game has downloaded to your hard drive, users will still need to keep the game disc in the drive to play."

If I'm reading the article correctly, only certain games that were purchased and downloaded digitally will work....so any 360 games on disc are still incompatible with the Xbox One.

Microsoft introduced backward compatibility for Xbox 360 games on the newer Xbox One just this month. It's not an absolute, though - not all games are compatible yet. You can read here for more details.
