You could turn a dish upside down and you would get the exact same signal on 101 that you get with it upright. If you have ever looked at an old 18" round antenna there was not skew because there was only 1 satellite. The skew has one and only one purpose. The skew allows you to line up multiple satellites (3 in this case) which are at different elevations in the sky. With 101 being in the center and the 99 and 103 satellites being to the left and right and one being higher in the sky and one being lower. The skew tilts the LNB(s) to they are at the same alignment on the antenna as they are in the sky. Adjusting the skew will have a dramatic effect on ALL transponders on ALL satellites as it changes the geometry of the dish and not until you get all axis properly aligned will you see the best signal on all satellites.
