Rayzar Air HD TV antenna

I notice they have dropped VHF-Lo, there still are VHF-Lo stations, not as many as there used to be, but they still exist.
I like that it cranks up. Height matters.

My -guess- is it will perform similar to the Jack on a crank-up

The antenna does work, but as N7BSN mentioned there are some stations in the VHF-lo band still.. And for all stations is has not got the "Range" of a Sensar IV, (Or an upgraded with wingman II or III) which are the antennas I recommend.

What do I use? Sensar II with wingman and Sensar Pro upgrades.

NOTE: another thing this antenna is an "Indoor" antenna in most cases (Though it can be mounted outside) and .. HEIGHT IS MIGHT.. I personally proved that some years past.

The antenna looks tempting.

I might buy the replacement-head version to replace my Winegard III/Wingman.

It should be easy enough to test with my R.S. inline amplifier. If I see no improvement I can always switch back. Loosing the blind spot (due to rotation requirements) should improve usage. The new design may improve signals over the whole spectrum.

I think you might be referring to the Razar antenna and not the new Razar Air. The Razar Air is NOT an indoor antenna. It is designed to be mounted to the same crank assembly used by the Batwing. It only uses and needs one arm outside. You can use your current setup after removing one arm or you can install the slightly shorter arm that comes with the setup.

It will be interesting to see the performance data on the Rayzar Air when SCVJeff gets a chance to give it a workout. Other than that, it looks like one advantage will be that the directional arrow on the inside of the lift assembly actually points in the same direction as the antenna, rather than 90 degrees off. :W

Not quite!

The inside arrow points the way the antenna will lay down (towards the back of my MH).

That means if I were to raise a Rayzar Air replacement it will point towards the front of my MH (it lays flat on the roof face-up).

It's now going to be 180 degrees off, but the back side, per their claims, should work as good as the front.

I think he means the Wingman now points 90 degrees off so you do not use the inside pointer as reference but rather 90 degrees off the pointer. With the Razar Air, the pointer will be the front of the Razar Air. Reception front or rear should be the same.

Exactly! :C Hmmm, I'll look at adding a second Wingman to my Sensar pointing the opposite direction from the first to get the same bi-directional performance as the Rayzar. :B
