I bought my Dell laptop used. It came with a cheap no-name battery. One day, the computer went dark without warning. The power section of the motherboard was fried, and the battery's internal fuse was blown. Did the motherboard take out the battery, or did the battery take out the motherboard? I'll never know, but to try and be safe when I replaced the motherboard I also switched to a Dell branded battery. IMO the Toshiba Satellite laptops are darn nice machines and worth the price of the new battery.
