Replacement laptop, do I want touch screen?

A Touchscreen is necessary on a tablet, but I do not like the touchscreen on a laptop or a desktop (I have both and never use them). The mouse or touchpad is much more convenient for my purposes.
For tablets, with out a full sized keyboard, then touchscreens are necessary. Typing on a touchscreen is slower and more error-prone (for me anyway) than typing on a regular keyboard with keys that move when pressed.
