If I had that choice I'd stay with XP; after 12 years of support and around 20 years of MS messing with it; it's a proven system.
As for the other comment on work arounds I'm trying to avoid that by finding out which make and models have problems so I can stay away from them.
On the Garmin forums one person couldn't get Base Camp to install until they removed a flash drive plugged into another port next to their GPS.
That was some kinda of driver conflict for that machine.
Switching everything over to a new machine and OS is bad enough without borrowing hardware compatible problems.
