RV 760LMT Users Only

I recently got one. For a $350 GPS I am not very satisfied.
After finding out that creating and adding custom routes is ignored by the unit, I question the value of this unit over any other less expensive units.
It gave me some very out of the way routes in both car and RV mode.

What are you able to do with yours that makes the price justifiable?

  • for me I like the input for my back up camera. you won't get that with an 89 dollar gps
  • That is frustrating, my 765T does the same thing and when I called Garmin they said that is normal????

Same here. As with anything there is a learning curve.
  • But my question is what makes it any better than an $89 GPS that has lifetime maps and traffic?

Campgrounds and rerouting around low bridges along a route really comes in handy. The along a route function which displays the distance to gas, food and rest areas really is nice.
Check your settings and make sure it's set for fastest time not shortest distance, and really get to know the unit and all of it's features and I think you'll like it. I did a cross country trip last year using one and I loved the information it gave me over what an $89 unit would give you.
  • Did Garmin discontinue the 760? It now only shows up as a Previous model.

It gets me to where I want to go and tells me when I will get there. I use it when RVing and also when just trying to find an address at home when in the car.
Is it prefect? no but neither am I without it. I believe that price includes lifetime updates.

It saves custom routes just fine. However it does not follow them. There is currently another thread about it.
