RV GPS Recommendation

We have always used our car 5" screen GPS when traveling, but are thinking about purchasing an RV specific GPS. Can anyone give me some input as to which one you own and pros and cons? Are they worth it? It sounds like some of the models have changed the last few years too.
Thanks for the feedback.

2 weeks ago. I got the Truck version. Dezl 770LMTHD.. from a Garmin 2597.

after my 1800 mile trip.(Ended yesterday). I am happy with it. Size restrictions. speed changes, sharp turns. steep hills. and you can do route changes with a finger on the screen, if you do not like where GPS is sending you..
NO more needed to use computer and download to GPS. and hope it works.

I have no need for RV type information.. I have a tablet for that ( if needed )

Not a deal breaker but RV models are very similar to trucker models I imagine the routing is the almost the same. My RV model has 98 per cent of my destinations already in its data base. Seldom do I input a CG address.
I'll take all the RV related info the GPS has to offer vs. truck stops,CAT scales, weigh stations and more trucking related data.
Again not a deal breaker, but I'm an RV'er not a trucker
  • Beyond just the get you there functions of a GPS I love the lane assist, speed limit, voice control, nearest what ever you want, slow curve warning and the most important the next pottie station. Yes there are routing problems, but one must use common sense when using any tech. I carry an Atlas but its getting dusty and may get used to start the camp fire. All in All I will keep my RVGPS, I use the RV760LTM and for AZ99 that is not a waste of money.

  • Yes, Truck and RV versions are very similar.. but buying NEW.. the RV 760 is discontinued... and is Now a RV 660.. I am going from a 5 inch to a 7 inch screen.. no point going to a 6 inch screen..

I know the campground I am going to. no need for a database on campgrounds.
    beings a past trucker..

Food stores, Restaurants, Gas Stations... in both.

Now if a GPS, can have a database on poor roads... Like I55, I12, I10.. only the concrete areas.. blacktop areas are nice.
