The only app I have found so far for good RV routing is Co-Pilot as mentioned already. There is an RV profile that lets you set height and if you are carrying propane. It pretty much routes where the trucks are routed and so far has done a good job of that. As to knowing a parkway or not - it is going to know height restrictions which is how all of these are programmed. Some do a better job of it than others and no matter what the app or GPS says watch the entrance signs before getting on any limited access road. And to the OP- if a trucker app routed you onto a limited access parkway that app is no good because it should not have sent a truck on that route either. There are a few limited access parkways that allow commercial vehicles or trucks but many don't. Where I am, there are several parkways and RVs are not allowed on any of them.

Trucker software will never be a good option for an RVer. Your RV does not have to follow the requirements truckers do so you will get pretty lousy routing on a regular basis. No way around it.

Last time I went past it still had no trucks signage.

You may want to stick to the larger companies for more accurate road restrictions. I'm sure something like "trucker path" doesn't have the resources to be as accurate as let's say Garmin. Heck even they have lots of errors. I've been using a Rand McNally GPS for RVs, only because it came with the RV and it seems to be doing a good job so far on accuracy, although not the smoothing layout and ease of use. I haven't driven the RV into a lake yet, so that's a plus.

It seems to me that a mapping program should know about all roads that prohibit trailers, no matter what kind of road it is.

How about highway 108 over Sonora Pass. 9 percent grade on the east side. Summit at 9,000 feet. From about 8,00 feet up they did not waste any paint for a line down the middle.

Around 8,000 feet there is a sign that says trailers not advised. How should a mapping program know that? Actually, it is not all that hard to get to the first campground past the warning sign. After that is when it gets tough. How does mapping software know that the road is actually usable when towing a trailer for several miles after the warning sign?

the app mentioned is questionable, and needs redesigning and should not be used..
info is available to do it right!

IF done correctly..programing something like this is NOT an easy task.
its NOT about the Name of the route, its about the conditions and the sign postings/restrictions, other roads name parkway in different states can and will have different conditions/restrictions or maybe none
