Have had Sat TV since it first came out in Canada about 20 years ago.
Get lotsa snow and I bet I have had to sweep it off about 4 times. Only because it was wet heavy stuff. Its the moisture in it, like how rain knocks it off air sometimes. Usually works fine with several inchs of snow on it.
If your loosing signal frequently in a bit of snow, I think your aim is off..
