Our motorhome is satelite ready. We have direct tv at home and plan on purchasing the xtra box to put in the MH. My question is we will start out with a stand alone 18" dish/tripod instead of the roof...

My camper had a switch box at the entertainment/DVD system at main TV. I unplugged the cable line from the switch box and ran it directly to the dish receiver. I also had the satellite connection so now I can use both tuners on the DVR.
