We have a dome. Just upgraded to Winegard because our old dish became obsolete. Advantages to dome is quick and automatic lock on and can be accessed inside the RV. Cons: trees or obstructions will block signal. If you are in a very heavily wooded park, neither portable or dome will work.

They specialize in RV satellite and installed satellite systems on Country Coach Class A. I would also ask him to set it up so you can carry a portable dish for those times when you need more flexibility. If you get a portable dish, get one that is automatic.
