Satellite Newbie looking for advice

Hey folks, I'm looking for a simple HD satellite setup with some sort of carry out dish (nothing mounted to the roof) with a single receiver for a single TV in the main area of the trailer. Don't need recording, hopper, joey, etc. Don't know anything about Dish or Direct so I don't know what company to go with but looking for a service I can pay as I go and just pay for the months we use it.

We're based in So. California

What dish?
What Company?
Any other info needed?

  • There is no carry out auto align dome for Directv HD. Several for DISH.
I chose Pathway X2 from Winegard. It can find either western or Easter arc so more options if trees etc interfere. You can call and change zips for locals daily if you like. Directv did not allow that.
  • Start here: DISHformyRV

They have several equipment packages, all HD and most with automatic aiming portable dishes.

Starting and stopping service is as simple as just not paying for the next month to stop and then paying for the next month to restart. Couldn't be easier...
  • You'll find Dish friendlier for pay as you go. Aiming an HD dish is not simple. You'll want recording unless you like watching commercials.
