your channel change will be done through the sat recviver, volume will still be done on the TV (yes the sat remote must be 'trained' for your TV) the TV will be left on (generally ) chan 3 or 4 and that is set on the back of your sat reciever. Are you using direct or dish? it really doesnt matter but I think direct is is easier to aim antenna dish, unless you are going with digital (high def) then it is the same.
