Satellite tv antenna

Instead of the tripod and dish to get our DirectTV, we are considering purchasing the King Quest 4Q4100 and the little tripod to set it on. We understand we won't get HD channels, but we don't mind that. Is there experience out there with this antenna? We just go to Florida and stay for 5 months, the trip down we just use our rig antenna.

Have not had any dealing with this unit...
I believe you listed the model number wrong in your post...

Found this model doing a GOOGLE search

KING VQ4100 Quest Portable/Roof Mountable Satellite TV Antenna (for use with DIRECTV)

Found a bunch of comments on AMAZON that might be of interest for you...

It is rumored that DirecTV will soon be ending all SD broadcast so your system as purposed will become a brick.

    Stick with the dish.
  • Its more than a rumor, DTV has made announcements that their Sat 101 and all SD service will end by 2019. They already stopped taking any new SD customers and will only activate SD receivers as a replacement for existing SD service.
I'm happy with SD, and had no interest in HD, but looks like we'll all be forced to switch.
  • There will be no more directv HD as I understand after 2019. So the antennas life span will be three years MAX. Are you OK with that?
  • Yes, I did have the model number wrong, and did not realize SD days were numbered! Thanks everyone!

I don't think your right there will only be Directv HD after 2019 just no more SD
  • Did you get the VQ4100? I'm thinking about getting Directv at home. I would then get the H24 and VQ4100.
