I remove all o-rings from the inside of the F-connectors as they have been shown to cause a loss of signal in some installations and certain frequencies. Grease and nothing but the grease, please!

By the way, while not mentioned, I also recommend that you only use compression fittings and not any crimp style. The compression fitting is likely the most important part of a long term successful coax installation.
