Well, I was wrong. There were no O-rings at all in the compression fittings I have. I must have confused them with crimp fittings I had earlier.
I'm not sure what the difference is between 'weather-proof' fittings and others now.
I received my dielectric grease (STUF)and used it the way you and the instructions on the tube advised. The rear end of the fitting is just not a concern, then?
