Security Certificate expired

I have an older Gateway desktop, model DX4840-37, with a Intel i5 processor and Win7 OS. I have turned off Windows Defender and currently use WebRoot from Best Buy with everything operating.

I tried changing my home page to Google and same error message, changed it again to RV.NET, same error message.

My HP laptop is working fine on Win10 but uses MS Edge and our netbook is fine on Wi Atom and Yahoo as home page.

So any at home things I can do to straighten out the desktop and any recommendatios on the tablets would be appreciated.

Another little tidbit, neither one of us has a smart phone.The date, the date, the date. Of course that was the problem earlier. To answer the other questions, every site was the same error message no matter what portal.

OK, now that you have fixed the date, I suspect due to age you may find the correct date disappearing again.. Causing the same error.

If this happens again, you will need to replace the CMOS battery. This battery keeps the on board clock AND all the BIOS settings for the system board.

Typically not a hard job to replace, this battery is typically a coin cell like a 2025, 2032 ect...

You will need to make sure the PC is turned off and unplugged, remove the battery (observe the polarity please) and replace with the same battery type.

Plug in and power up, you may get a CMOS error then a prompt to enter the CMOS.. You can edit the date and time in the CMOS and accept the default settings if asked then save the settings on exit of the CMOS menu.
