I have the 211k, and one of them is connected HDMI and Composite, no problems. I have not connected via coax.
The problem sounds like a bad cable (connection) Once I tried 4 different cables to get one that worked, threw away alot of old, bad cables that day.
Remember that the box and the TV have connectors, too. These can go bad.
