Snow tires?

Ive always had great luck with Nitto Terra Grapplers in the snow.
It's an all terrain tire though.
Big lugs of a mud tire would help sling the snow from the tread and claw through the deep stuff.

My truck plows snow when not towing... I have had the Nitto Terra Grappler for a while... they do great for plowing...

I developed tire squirm with my last set when towing, so I dumped them and went into the street version- Dura Grappler...

Bridgestone Blizzak, not the cheap ones, the pricey ones ... I use the LM-60 on my AWD Subaru every winter and it's unstoppable in snow; i've helped free several stuck 4wd pickup trucks.

Howdy neighbor! After living in the Sierra's for most of my years, we moved to North Idaho two decades ago--love it. I've had the most aggressive studded snow tires I could find for over 40 years, and have never been sorry. If you make the change to winter tires, make them useful. Mine are mounted on rims that I change myself, and only run them for about 5 months in the winter.
IF we head South this year (towing), I won't put them on. But come November, steel hits the pavement. Yeah, I know they are detrimental to pavement and are noisy, but when you want to stop quickly, they work. Just IMHO....

M/T tires aren't great snow tires, unless you're driving in mash-potato snow like the west side of the Cascades get. A regular A/T snow tires will do better in all other conditions.

And generally.... last much longer!

Especially icy conditions... M/T generally poor on ice

I've never put them on a truck, but I have had great luck with Blizzak. Had them on a little Honda S2000, as well as a RWD 300 Hemi. The Honda was underivable in the winter without them, and the Chrysler wasn't much better. With them, never had any trouble (except in deep snow, but that is another story).

Think I'm leaning toward the Cooper A/TW. Good reviews and reasonably priced, and it's still an all terrain tire.

I run Studded snow tires in winter, regular mud and snows just don’t cut it in the Sierra.
