Straight Talk Hotspot

There's no better deal on a Hotspot than Straight Talk that I can find, especially with it on Verizon towers. A $40 card will get you 4GB of data and it's good over 60-days. That's like having wifi for only $20 per month. Don't need it for a few months, don't pay... then start back using it whenever you wish. What a deal for RV'ers...

I have used my hotspot for the past three weeks on a trip from SE Louisiana to the Knoxville, TN. area. I had no issues with it at all. I even bought another gb to use being I used the initial free 1 GB up. It even worked at DeSoto State Park where the phone would not way up on top of the mountain.

It uses the same charger my Samsung phone uses, so yes.

It works well for me .... so far.
No landline needed.

1. Your hotspot should work anywhere there's a Verizon tower nearby.

2. You can charge the hotspot with 120v. wall outlet, a 12-volt car outlet or with a USB cable.

Not to hijack the OP's thread, but how do you recharge the batteries on the mobile hotspot. Is 120V AC required? Can you recharge using a USB connection to 12V DC?

Razorback...better call ST back again. I activated my ST HS in NC and used it here. Then used it from Jax Fl to Bahia Honda in the Keys, then again when we returned to NC. Something wrong here???

My ST Hotspot just became a paperweight. Worked fine til I moved to a new location. Called ST support and they said it was only good at the zip code where I activated it. So much for "MOBILE" or "on the go" as advertised.

I posted the thread that is linked above so will not repeat info here. Getting ready for our second test of the HS end of this month or next month.

No land line needed...Verizon towers.

The link above will give you lots of answers about the ST Hotspot, but the quick answer is that it works pretty well at a fairly reasonable cost, and no, it does not need a landline connection since it uses the Verizon cell network.
