I have an old UMX unit that I added data to before our trip to Yellowstone this past summer. I called customer support & got it done, but after hang up my iPad would connect but my laptop wouldn't. Called back & representative I got said she had to reset my laptop (whatever's that meant) but afterwards it would connect. There were times on the trip that I could connect & others when it never did. If we were driving I would put it on the dash as close to the windshield as I could get it & that seemed to help. I assumed that the signal wasn't strong enough when it didn't work, but I expected that to happen due to our locations.
