I have s/t phone service and while traveling through ky I had no service. Does anyone if I have to dial a roaming number or what I have to do to get service

Service is spotty in parts of Kentucky. We are in Kentucky visiting wife's sister and we have no service for AT&T or Verizon. You will find this in states with mountains.
