This maybe the first indication of a bad drive. Back up your stuff..now.
I had already checked the drive, using not only toshiba's built in utility but also 3rd party utilities, such as Seagate. All checks come up good. So I'm not going to be too concerned. My data is backed up very well. If the HDD takes a dive, I'll probably opt for a new laptop,taking in to consideration the cost of replacing the HDD. I have one paralyzed arm, so I wouldn't opt to try fixing it myself.
This is my 4rh Toshiba. It isn't that old, so I'd be surprised if the hard drive is giving up so soon.. True, no matter how new a device is, there's no guarantee it's going to give the service you might expect.
