I installed Win 10 "Creator" version (17??) a few months ago and had one HELL of a time running my HP Laptop. Many Windows system programs would not start at all or took several MINUTES to startup. Program icons disappeared from the bottom tray and menus. Backup and third party programs that automatically started at bootup failed to start. Other programs complained that the Windows system registry was missing or corrupted. I thought that my machine was having a disk failure even though my disk check programs reported NO ERRORS.
I did a "Go back to previous build" which re-installed my Win 10 version 1607 and the laptop is now running just fine. Apparently the "Creator" version doesn't work well with existing programs.
