The message displayed is occurring during POST (Power-On Self-Test). This happens prior to the operating system loading. Try running CHKDSK. Type "cmd" in the search box, then right click on "Command Prompt" and select "Run as Administrator". Type "chkdsk /r" then press Enter. This will scan the drive looking for bad sectors.
Replacing a hard drive is a fairly easy process. The difficult part is installing Windows and the software that you use.
There is software available that will 'Clone' your existing drive. You can download a free version of Macrium here:

You will also need a USB adapter to plug the new drive into.
