Surveillance security cameras. Will this work?

I'm looking into getting a camera system. I'm getting motion spot lights as well as motion sensors with an alarm. I want the camera system to record and be online so I can view it anywhere from my cel...

why are you trying to plug it in to a laptop if you want to see it remotely?


What I heard was that it had to be hard wired to a modem instead of being plugged into a laptop or it just won't record to the internet. Not sure why as I'm still trying to find out if that's 100% true or not. The laptop would be at the house and I would see it remotely on my cellphone.
