Switching Browsers

My Windows 10 laptop has been using Chrome Browser but it has got slower and slower.. I switched to Edge and it was much faster but I didn't like it.. Thinking about Firefox.. Anybody using FF or comments about it?
  • I don't where you people are getting a fast Firefox, but I gave up on that dog years ago. I had the same issue with Chrome getting progressively slower so I switched to Opera.

Same here. AND I just figured out how to stop videos from automatically playing on news and other sites.
  • Just curious about what features in Edge you are not liking? I switched from Chrome to Edge and am so far enjoying it quite a bit. I have tried FF numerous times and have never had much luck with it.

As always, to each their own!

    Cheers!

  • I deleted Google Chrome due to problems after they updated it. Several of my friends also had problems and deleted it. I switched to Firefox and very satisfied. Ad blocker works very well with it.
  • also check your plugins in Chrome, and disable ones that you don't need. Click on the options button-->More Tools-->task Manager, this will let you see how much memory and CPU each tab and extension is using.
  • Firefox user for many years. Always fast and works well with adblocker programs.
  • FF is great! I have used it as my primary browser for many years and I rarely use anything else. I have Chrome and IE (and Edge but don't like it) but I prefer FF over them all.
  • Clear out your old browser files, cookies, and possibly look into a "cleaner" program.
I've used cc cleaner and followed that with malwarebytes to clean up old issues. If those don't fix the issue, enter the windows program, and clear temporary files there, and empty the trash can using disk cleanup, followed by going to system maintenance and running disk defragmenter.
Nothing wrong with firefox, but if these are the causes of the problem, they will all come back again using the new browser. These are just the routine maintenance steps that these systems need.
  • Go to Chrome browser maintenance and clean up your temp files.
  • I've used FF for years and it has always worked for me. The newest version is 59 and is the fastest one yet. There is a user help forum that I've found gives reliable advice at Firefox Support. The support forum is one of the best things about Firefox.
