syncing issues...again

I have a small problem syncing my iPod and iPad to iTunes on my computer. I keep getting double playlists on the computer as well as my iPod/iPad. I have tried changing every setting and I still get the duplicate playlists.

I am using Windows 7, IE 10 and the latest iTunes. I have the devices set to automatically download Music and Apps.

iTunes on my PC is set to not allow automatic sync and the music library is set to sync the entire music library.

Can someone explain how to sync without getting duplicate playlists? I have read the articles on Apple Support and nothing seems to cover this issue. Help

The alternatives to iTunes I alluded to can be found on this thread Add songs to iPod without using iTunes?
    .
  • I think you can set it to only sync the songs that are check marked. I noticed that with some of my songs that were doubled but once I set it to only sync the checked marked ones, I didn't have that problem. Maybe my problem isn't the same as yours, however.
  • If you figure it out let the rest of us know as I have the same problem and I hate iTunes and my iPhone. :)
  • Well I must be out of touch too. I have tried Google Play Music and HATED it. Way too much junk...I prefer a clean and simple music player. I have also used Windows Media Player but as I am typing this WMP is updating with DUPLICATE songs. It syncs with my smartphone...songs only and not playlists...so it's a no go also. I really like iTunes but this syncing thing is getting to me.

  • When I had my iPod Touches, I never had that issue. But have you tried using alternatives to iTunes mentioned previously?
  • Boy I wish I knew the answer to your query and then I'd be able to sync my ITouch to ITunes on my MAC.
I love the Mac and its performance in so many ways but some of its software is either so out of touch with reality or I'm not in touch with the 20 year old techies that design and find its software very simple.

Now and then I find success in my sync and have no idea of how or what I did so I could duplicate it.
OK, I know I'm blaming the world for my shortcomings but in BM (before Mac) I was the go to guy to help people with their PC problems.
