I have an inexpensive RCA tablet running Android. I downloaded a gps app, they turned off wifi and any connection to the internet. Started the app, it gives my exact location, and is tracking 10 our of 12 available satellites. I use google maps, and copilot both, neither has any problem determining my exact location, but Maps has to have an internet connection to download maps. So Yes,cheap tablets do have GPS antennas and tracking hardware.
